The IP address above may or may not be able to identify your exact location and computer you are sitting at. The ability to locate you based on your IP depends on several factors.

Unique ID The IP address uniquely identifies your computer on the internet, making it possible for other computers to exchange data (like a webpage or image) with your computer. As you'll see it is not always easy or even possible to identify you based on your IP.

Masquerading IP is a process where your Internet provider (ISP) hides your real IP and makes it look like all users of the ISP has the same IP. In this case it is possible to learn what ISP you are using and often your approximate location based on this common IP address.

Dynamic IP Sometimes your ISP doesn't hide your IP from the Internet but instead they assign a different IP to your computer every time you log in to the network. The result is the same as for a masqueraded IP, it's possible to know your ISP and your approximate location. With the help of your ISP and the exact time the IP was in use it's also possible to pinpoint your computer.

Proxy Some people use a proxy to hide their identity when surfing the web. In that case the IP above will be the IP of the proxy, not of your computer. In this case the only way to learn your IP is to get it from the Proxy operators log files.
