What Is My IP Address and Location

Your IP and User Agent will sometimes determine what content you see when you visit a website. That's why it's good to have a tool to check what your IP and user agent is as seen by a remote website.

IP Address

This is the IP address we see when you connect to this website. It might be your own IP address, it might be the IP address of the firewall of your ISP (quite likely) or it might be the IP address of a proxy.

User Agent

This is the string your internet browser is sending to use to identify itself. It should say something about Mozilla and the name of your internet browers plus a lot of other gobelygook.

Location

We use a software and database called geoip that tells us where you IP address is located. Often this is quite near to where you are actually located but that's not necessarily the case.

Cookies

This is all cookies that this site has stored on your computer. We can't see cookies that other sites has stored on your computer.

The Map

The map uses the Google Maps API and the information from geoip to pinpoint your location (the location of your IP) on the map.
