I was having troubles building Onlink under MinGW, because make was so horrendously slow. I wondered if this was possibly because of the GNU Make implicit pre-defined rules. Disabling them helps tremendously, even with Visit Anomalous Anomaly (http://www.anomalousanomaly.com/)
